Stevenson Combative Concepts (SCC) was founded by two-time black belt hall of fame member, and former police officer, Rich Stevenson.
Mr. Stevenson has dedicated his life to reality-based martial arts. He has created an easy to learn self-defense system (Street Martial Science) that is geared for the average person who needs a practical, no-nonsense self-defense system. It's a non-traditional, eclectic system that requires no uniform, belts or any other traditional customs. The goal of S.M.S. is to successfully defend yourself against a violent, unprovoked street attack.

5 ranges of combat.

We offer a realistic approach to self-defense. There are 5 ranges or areas in fighting. If you were to take a snapshot of a fight anywhere in the world, it would fit into one of these catagories...

Kick-Boxing Range- you are in a range where you can punch or kick your opponet, they can also.

Trapping range- (also called clinch)- Too close to punch. The range for head-butts, knees, and elbows, throws.

Ground fighting- self explainatory

Mass attack- multipal attackers

Weapon attack- Someone attacks with a weapon.
Every possible thing that can happen in a fight is listed above. There could be more than one catagory at once, example: a weapon attack while ground fighting.
We train to have a complete defense.
We use techniques and or principals from Ju-Jitsu, Kenpo Karate, Jeet Kune Do Concepts, Kali, Wing-Chun.
